Public Meetings

IN PERSON AND VIRTUAL HEARINGS

The DAF invites the public, stakeholders, and other interested parties to attend one or more of the three in-person public hearings or the virtual public hearing. These hearings will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Proposed Action and Alternatives, ask questions, and offer formal comments on the Draft EIS. Project team members will be available to provide information and answer questions. At each in-person hearing, a formal presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a public comment period. Hearing materials will be available in English and Spanish.

Public Scoping Meetings held March 5-7, 2024

Public involvement is a crucial component of preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). It provides the public with an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed action and potential environmental impacts. Public scoping is conducted in the early stages of EIS development to solicit comments from the public and agencies about potential issues that should be analyzed in the EIS. This could include resource areas that may be affected by the proposed action, impacts from past or ongoing projects, sufficiency of alternatives being considered, and study areas being evaluated.
